Community Solar subscriptions available

To make solar energy more accessible for all consumer-members, Fairfield Electric Cooperative is building a community solar farm at its Winnsboro Office on Highway 321 north of Winnsboro.  The cooperative completed construction of a 60 kW solar array in December.

Help your Cooperative "Beat The Peak"

Fairfield Electric recently started a new Beat the Peak program, a free and voluntary effort to help control energy costs for all cooperative members.

Four local students represent Fairfield Electric Cooperative on youth tour

Student tour nation’s capital

Four local students represented Fairfield Electric Cooperative on a trip to the nation’s capital in June.

Mercedez’ Carpenter and Trace Swann of Fairfield Central High School, Sally Costenbader of Richard Winn Academy and Lauren Huse of Blythewood High School were among 74 South Carolina rising high school seniors on the six-day trip to Washington D.C. sponsored by their local electric cooperatives. The students were selected on the basis of their academic achievements, school activities and community service.

Warning! Scammers targeting electric co-op members

Posing as a representative of Fairfield Electric Cooperative, potential thieves are attempting to scam Fairfield Electric members by calling to demand immediate payment of electric bills.

Several Fairfield Electric Cooperative members have reported that they have received calls claiming their bill is past due. The caller claims they are from a third party collection agent and that service will be cut off if the amount due is not paid immediately.

Members share memories as Cooperative celebrates 75 Years of service

2014 marked the 75th Anniversary of Fairfield Electric Cooperative.  In this video, member reflect on life before and after the lights came on.

 

 

Member donations help local Lions Club with vision screening

The Blythewood Lions Club is now able to provide vision screenings throughout the community thanks to Fairfield Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up program. The programs volunteer Trust Board recently approved funds for the local club to purchase a PediaVision Spot vision screener.
